The Oaklands Hotel | Norfolk Wedding Photography | Bonnie & Kevin
I first met Bonnie and Kevin at The Kimberley Hall Wedding Fair in February when they were preparing for their Norfolk wedding. I’m pleased to say that they booked me as their photographer straightaway. They also booked Amber from Love Wedding Cakes at the same Wedding Fair showing that they had impeccable taste!

Their wedding was less than a year away at this time. Those few months soon passed and we met up at their home for the pre wedding meeting.
The day arrived!
We enjoyed lovely warm sunshine at the picturesque Old Lakenham Church, discretely nestled in the outskirts of Norwich.

I always get a bit excited about the wedding cars and the Beauford is a particular favourite of mine. I see this one quite regularly from Norfolk Classic Wedding Cars.
A quick drive into the city brought us to The Oakland’s Hotel, a long standing favourite for Norwich weddings. In addition, the recent refurbishment has brought the hotel bang upto date with a stylish interior, secluded mature gardens and top notch catering.
The great weather meant most of the guests were reluctant to move inside for the meal. I’m pretty sure that they would have quite happily eaten outside on the veranda!
One of the family
One of the things I like best about being a wedding photographer is the closeness and sense of inclusion you get with your couples on the day. You get to see the emotions, both happy and sad. You share the nervousness from bride and groom and you can help guide them through the day with your unrivalled wealth of wedding day experience. Just little touches like helping the groomsmen attach their button holes is just a small gesture which helps the day along.

Bonnie and Kevin had a fabulous time after the initial nerves. The reception was kicked off with some very touching, heartfelt emotional speeches with regular injections of humour from Kevin and the Best Man much to the embarrassment of the wives and daughters on the top table!
The evening was spent partying with a disco from D & H Entertainment. I had to force myself to leave as it promised to be a great night with a few drinks flowing.
