Ickworth Hotel | Suffolk Wedding Photography | Liz & Leigh

Ickworth Hotel is a grand National Trust property within the heart of Suffolk set amongst acres of countryside. It is full of secret hideaways perfect for lots of photo opportunities! From landscaped gardens to the bowling green lawn, the unique feature wall, not to mention the regal backdrop of the house and the imposing Rotunda.

The venue has so many attractions for couples. I can see why Liz & Leigh chose Ickworth for their wedding back in August 2018. 

This was my second time at Ickworth, although I returned again last year. Each one was completely unique, using different aspects of the venue. I’m looking forward to my next visit again already!

The Lodge is a converted farmhouse set within the grounds of The Ickworth Hotel. It is on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. The family had exclusive use of The Lodge, which was ideal for both the bridal and groom’s wedding preparations and their day. They moved for the weekend and certainly made themselves at home.

The couple only wanted coverage from bridal preparation up until their wedding breakfast, as they chose not to have the typical evening celebrations.

The wedding was an intimate gathering of family and close friends to celebrate Liz & Leigh’s special day. It certainly was a family affair with lots of laughter and fun. It felt a real privilege to be part of.

The wedding ceremony took place in The Lodge, as it is also a licensed venue. Following the formalities, it was simply a case of opening the door and stepping out on the lawn for a glass of fizz! I think there is definitely something to be said about having everything all in one place. It is a beautiful, relaxing comfortable setting. 

The day ended for me by sneaking the couple away to enjoy some of those magical spots hidden within the grounds of The Ickworth Hotel.
