Bedford Lodge | Norfolk Wedding Photography | Emily & Daniel
As wedding season is getting longer and weddings are happening throughout the whole year, it’s often difficult for a wedding photographer to have a holiday. Luckily we managed to have a few days away over our own anniversary. We returned on the Friday evening. That night, the camera kit was being charged, shirt ironed and preparing for Emily & Daniel’s wedding at Bedford Lodge the next day.
There are so many venues in Norfolk & Suffolk. It is almost impossible to have photographed at every one of them. That said, it was my first time photographing at Bedford Lodge in Newmarket. I must say, what a beautiful venue it is. It was a very windy day, which at times, played havoc with the brides hair and veil! I arrived early in the morning to the bridal party enjoying a glass of Buck’s Fizz in their room. This was the perfect accompaniment to getting ready for the big day ahead.

Proud parents
Emily was calm and collected, as teachers often are in stressful situations! Her parents were bursting with pride the moment they saw their daughter ready to start her married life.

The lads arrived shortly after. They made their way to another room to get suited and booted. As they were both at the venue, I was able to capture both parties doing their wedding preparation. I often say that wedding photography is about being able to capture the little moments as well as the big. With that in mind, the happy couple had bought some personalised cufflinks. On one cufflink was the date and coordinates of where they met. On the other, was their wedding date and coordinates of Bedford Lodge.

Their wedding was held in the impressive ceremony room. Then they made their way as Husband & Wife into the formal gardens. The Bedford Lodge team had everything running to schedule and soon the room was reset for the wedding breakfast and evening party. Meanwhile, I stole the Bride & Groom away for some couple shots in the sunshine around the extensive grounds.

It’s always lovely to bump into other wedding suppliers and the guests were certainly in for a treat with Sarah Mai singing. Sarah sang the couples first dance ‘Hold My Girl’ by George Ezra followed by ‘Do You Love Me?’ by The Contours.

As always, Sarah kept everyone on their feet on the dance floor!
What a day and what a venue!
After boldly depositing a handful of my cards with the hotel reception, I do hope that I am able to return to Bedford Lodge one day soon as a wedding photographer!
I’ll leave you with a few more of my favourites from the day…
