Applewood Hall | Norfolk Wedding Photography | Holly & Matthew
On the hottest day of 2019 over the August bank holiday weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing the glorious wedding of Holly & Matthew at Applewood Hall. We met at The Kimberley Hall Wedding Fair and I then went to meet with them at their home to hear all about their wedding plans.
Holly & Matt had their reception at Applewood Hall nestled on the edge of Banham Zoo, but their ceremony was at the lovely church in the village.

This was my first time at Applewood Hall which is a real hidden gem. Tucked away to the side of Banham Zoo, the venue inside has the feel of a marquee wedding with the main room permanently lined out with silk drapes.

ARRIVING IN STYLE
The day started at the couples home where Holly and her bride squad were getting ready. What a full house! I then had to shoot over to the church in the centre of the village to await the arrival of Matthew and his groomsmen. They made quite an entrance on a vintage tractor and trailer driven by one of the ushers. To be honest I was rather jealous of this! I’m a bit of a secret vintage tractor fan. The tractor and trailer was then used to ferry the guests to and from the venue.

The bride arrived in a fabulous old Rolls Royce, owned and driven by her Great Uncle.
The lovely cool church was a welcome break from the heat, especially for the boys in their tweed three piece suits! I bet they didn’t imagine how hot it would be when they chose them!
The traditional service was lovely. We had the family photos outside the church in the sunshine. The tractor took the guests, while Holly and Matthew stayed back at the church for some couple shots and some relaxing time to take stock of the moment.
Back at the reception, the couple had organised some wonderful vintage games to play whilst sipping refreshing glasses of Pimms and Prosecco.

I managed to capture the grooms party being typical lads on the pagoda, whilst the girls were in their stunning red dresses complimented by bold floral designs from Charlotte Staff Flowers.

The couple and guests danced the night away to Hi-Lites Roadshow with Gavin ‘Worzel’ Whurr. It was lovely to see a friendly face, as Worzel is an old friend from my young farmer days. In fact, both Holly & Matthew met through YFC, like my wife and I did. It is known as a bit of a dating agency!
What a beautiful day in every respect.
