Hello and welcome to my Blog!

As the website suggests my name is Mark from Mark Raines Photography and I am a Norfolk Wedding Photographer. I’ve been professionally shooting weddings for just over 10 years across Norfolk and Suffolk. I live in Harleston with my Wife and two children. It is a great spot close to the Norfolk / Suffolk Border making it ideal for travelling in either direction.

I always enjoyed going to weddings as a guest long before I photographed one. They are a great social event where your circle of friends all meet up and families get to be together. This for some is a rare occasion. They are of course also a happy event, a time to celebrate and have a great party!

Why Wedding Photography?

It is a real honour to be chosen as someone’s wedding photographer, to be trusted to capture those timeless moments that can never be repeated. As a wedding photographer, I am welcomed in, almost as part on the family for the day.

Don’t forget your wedding photographer will be with you from early in the day right through to the evening celebrations. Therefore, they see the whole event from a completely different perspective from the Bride and Groom and all of the guests. This is one of the reasons I like to meet up with each couple, usually more than once before the big day. It is important to build a rapport with the couple and also an element of trust and so they can feel comfortable with you on the day.

Personally, like many photographers, I hate being on “the other side” of the camera. However, my laid-back style helps even the most camera-shy couples enjoy their day.

Wedding photography shouldn’t be about settling for second best. After all, your photos and memories are all that you will have to remember the day. So, if you are planning your wedding, then grab a cuppa or a glass of bubbles (after all you are wedding planning!) and have a browse through my work. If you like what you see and then do get in touch.

See you soon
